Despite problems in Afghanistan, India has marked a significant milestone in their anti-polio campaign… one year without a documented case. 2 of the 3 remaining polio endemic countries in the world however, are nearby: Pakistan and Afghanistan. India will have to remain vigilant in surveillance and vaccination to prevent re-importing the disease.
